This home tour + lifestyle shoot has been 2 years in the making now. We starting building this house almost 1 1/2 ago, and all I can say is that it has been an adventure. If you follow me on instagram you know that building and selling homes has been a big part of our life over the last 14 years, and 5 houses later, I feel very settled knowing this is my dream house and for the first time, I plan to spend many years in this house making lots of memories with my favorite Boucher Bunch.
I got my degree in Interior Design, and my husband was raised by a very talented contractor, so building our own home as owner builders was the right path for us. Together we designed every inch of this home from, layout, color selections, materials, and all the nitty gritty details. And with the help of Shawn’s dad, Boucher Home Design, we came up with the perfect floor plan to fit our needs. I could not be happier with how everything came together in the end.
The first part of my home tour features the main level of our home. Besides the back yard, this is where we spend most of our time. I love having a large space that we can be together in, and since we love to entertain, a huge kitchen was a must. My favorite part is the double sided bar that seats 6 people and our butlers pantry that hides all our small appliances.
Now, I know this isn’t your average home tour since we’re such a huge part of it, but this home reflects us so much that I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of my other favorite details are the natural wood hardwood from Heritage Home and Garden and the oversized pendents in the kitchen.
Now, I want to be honest here, I do not have the budget for high end furniture, but I promise, it is possible to get a high end look and nice furniture without a huge budget. It takes a little more research, sale shopping, and patience, but I am so happy with the pieces I have added to my home. I will be sure to tag my favorite pieces on instagram @bcouturephoto so be sure to follow me there! Some of my favorite places to shop are World Market, Target {of course}, Rugs USA, Pottery Barn, and Wayfair. My local favorite boutiques for unique accessories are Cosy House and Gift {in Greengate Village}, Heritage Home and Garden, and By Bloomers for great house plants.
Thanks to Alyssa Ence Photography for the most amazing photos ever. I will always cherish these!
Stay tuned for the rest of my home tour post in the upcoming weeks.
